About Dr. Ana Carolina Gomes Jardim

Dr. Ana Carolina Gomes Jardim is a Professor of Virology at the Institute of Biomedical Science, Federal University of Uberlândia, Brazil. Her research focuses on the development of innovative antiviral therapies targeting emerging and re-emerging viruses such as Zika, Chikungunya, and SARS-CoV-2. Dr. Jardim integrates synthetic chemistry, virology, and molecular biology to explore how metal-based compounds and natural products can disrupt viral replication. Her recent work also includes AI-driven biosensing technologies for rapid viral detection. A recipient of numerous national and international awards, Dr. Jardim is widely recognized for her leadership in antiviral drug discovery and translational virology.
