Beaudry is Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Nutrition and Fat Biology with an exceptional research track record in adipose tissue physiology. Her research investigates the mechanisms regulating energy homeostasis, adipose tissue function, obesity, and type 2 diabetes, with a particular focus on hormone-adipose interactions and dietary fat metabolism. The Beaudry lab studies how excess dietary fat and elevated stress, as well as pancreatic and gut-derived hormones, influence white and brown fat tissue biology.
She has authored 36 peer-reviewed publications to date, with publications in leading journal such as Cell Metabolism, Molecular Metabolism, and the New England Journal of Medicine. Beaudry’s research has been supported by numerous competitive grants, including CIHR, NSERC, and CFI. She has been invited to speak at numerous national and international meetings and has made multiple media appearances, including in The Toronto Star and The Scientist.
Beaudry’s trainees have received numerous prestigious awards from the Banting and Best Diabetes Centre, NSERC, and CIHR. Beaudry is also an active member of several scientific societies and regularly serves on manuscript and grant review panels. Since her appointment as an assistant professor, Beaudry has been recognized for her research excellence with awards from Kern Lipid Board, Banting and Best Diabetes Centre, NSERC, and Connaught Fund.
