Important Meetings - Dates and Times

Table 1 (below) outlines the governance (approval) path for minor and major modifications; please contact the Faculty Graduate Affairs Officer regarding proposals for new programs and program closures. The second table outlines the 2025/26 deadlines and key meeting dates for Temerty Faculty of Medicine governance related to graduate education (i.e., divisional governance).

Deadlines and meeting dates are organized by cycles. Each cycle represents a divisional governance path and outlines the sequential approval process. Please note the departmental deadlines to submit governance forms. These deadlines ensure Graduate Curriculum Committee (GCC) members have at least 7 working days to review these curriculum changes prior to the GCC meeting.

Departments are encouraged to contact the Faculty Graduate Affairs Officer prior to submitting all documents related to any type of curriculum change.

The Department Deadline for Final Documents to RHSE assumes:

• all consultation and feedback have been addressed in the final version of the documents, and
• departmental approval of these curriculum changes are reflected in the submitted governance forms

If these two conditions are not met, proposals will be sent back to the department with instructions on next steps.

Please note that major modifications, new programs and closure of programs are subject to additional Temerty Medicine standing committee meetings – Temerty Medicine Executive Committee and Temerty Medicine Research Committee. Dates for these meetings are scheduled as needed by the Office of the Dean. Faculty proponents for major modifications, new programs and closure of programs will be informed of these meetings dates well in advance of starting governance. 

Cycle 3 is the last governance path for curriculum changes that need to be reflected in the 2026/27 School of Graduate Studies Calendar.  

As a reminder, the deadline to submit SGS Calendar entries is Friday, March 27, 2026.
