Pathway Grants

To address the gap between the Temerty Faculty of Medicine’s Project Grant proposals and CIHR’s limited available funding envelope, the Office of the Vice-Dean, Research and Health Science Education (RHSE) will provide Pathway Grants for the Fall and Spring Project Grant competitions. This funding program functions as an internal CIHR bridge grant for top-rated Project Grant proposals from on-campus Temerty Faculty of Medicine applicants. There will be up to six grants per Project competition (Spring and Fall) worth $50,000 for 1 year, with the potential for a 1-year no-cost extension. Up to six unfunded proposals, where the PI participated in a peer review panel and scored in the 89.99-75% range will receive Pathway Grants. In instances where there are more than 6 eligible applications that meet this criteria, Pathway grants will be awarded at random.
