Parham Rezaeimanesh

Hello! My name is Parham. I am an undergraduate student at U of T specializing in neuroscience, with minors in immunology and physiology.

I am interested in understanding the mechanisms that drive neurological diseases, including the roles of neuroinflammation and mitochondrial dysfunction. With a growing need for targeted therapies, it is crucial to uncover these pathways to improve treatment and patient quality of life. Previously, I conducted research at the Krembil Research Institute, where I investigated targeted therapeutic strategies to mitigate oxidative stress and hippocampal injury, and behavioural deficits associated with status epilepticus in preclinical models.

I am honoured to be selected as a 2026 Amgen Scholar and excited to take part in cutting-edge laboratory research this summer. I am especially looking forward to joining Dr. Sheena Josselyn’s lab, learning from an exceptional team, and contributing to research on the neural circuits underlying memory encoding and retrieval.
