Yolanda Liu
Hello! My name is Yolanda, and I will be going into my third year at the University of Toronto. I am a student in the biochemistry specialist program, but I also have interests in molecular genetics and pharmacology. While my hometown is a small city in BC called Chilliwack, I love the big city atmosphere and being surrounded by the research culture at UofT. During my second year, I was able to assist in Dr. John Calarco's lab, where I developed an interest in lab work regarding gene expression, especially in relation to neural regulations. I love learning about how genetic alterations and biochemical pathways can impact physiological functions in diseases. In the future, I plan on pursuing research and entering graduate school to further expand my skills as a scientist. Outside of academia, I enjoy painting, cooking, watching anime, and playing Stardew Valley. You can always find me trying out new food places around the city!
