Keynote Panel Discussions
May 13-15, 2020 | 10:00 am - 11:30 am
An interactive discussion led by key leaders in academia and industry. Over three days, panelists will address current topics pertaining to university education, the future of AI in healthcare and medicine, and navigating career transitions from graduate and postdoctoral studies
Career Panels
May 13, 2020 | 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Topics: Academia and Beyond • Public Sector • Industry & Private Sector • Life Sciences Consulting/IB
The panels will consist of 3-4 speakers, who can speak to their personal career journeys and their current roles and responsibilities. Each session will be in a moderated Q&A format, with an opportunity for the audience to submit their questions in real-time
Professional Development Workshops
May 13-15, 2020 | 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Designed to teach trainees how to recognize and articulate their skills in preparation for the job market.
Workshops are run by faculty and staff from the University of Toronto, Ryerson, CIHR, and NSERC
Morrison-style Poster Competition
Finalists: May 13, 2020 | 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Graduate students and post-doctoral fellows are invited to submit Morrison-style posters to showcase their ability to communicate to an audience from both academia and the industry.
Finalists with the biggest visual impact will be selected for a final 10 min oral presentation in front of a panel of judges with a $200 prize for the top presentation and $100 for each of the two other finalists
Job Simulations

Lead by Dr. Nana Lee, the Job Simulations workshop series is designed to give participants a detailed preview into the roles and responsibilities involved in each job sim stream. Facilitated by industry experts, this interactive workshop highlights the key skills necessary to be successful on the job
Spotlight Presentations
May 13-15, 2020 | 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Company-driven information sessions designed to provide the audience with insights on topics such as the organization’s mission and vision, company culture, and the current opportunities available.
Each session will have 4 participating companies, with 20 mins presentations followed by 10 mins of Q&A
Information interviews
May 13-15, 2020 | 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
A 1-on-1 opportunity for trainees to have a 10 min chat with a company rep. Pairs can discuss potential job opportunities, as well as any tips and tricks to improve their chances of landing that interview.
NOTE: Interested trainees are asked to submit a one (1) page resume and successful candidates will receive an invitation from the LSCE team on behalf of the company for an interview slot
Company Booth Fair
May 14-15, 2020 | 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm
The company booths session is a two-day event that features employers from various industries, eager to engage with students and share career opportunities and insights
