Dr. Jasty Singh completed her PhD in Immunology at the University of Toronto. She went on to pursue a postdoctoral fellowship in the Institute of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Toronto and then returned to the Department of Immunology as an Assistant Professor in the Teaching Stream in 2019.
Dr. Singh's pedagogical research interests include building interdisciplinary collaborations for preparing graduate life sciences researchers to engage with statistics in research. Dr. Singh designed and now co-delivers a graduate-level course, IMM1200: Scientific Skills for Immunologists.
Beyond teaching, Dr. Singh mentors and supports graduate trainees, both formally (e.g., thesis supervisory committee member, establishing teaching opportunities for graduate students) and informally (e.g., supporting and leading graduate student events). Dr. Singh's contributions to graduate education were recognized with the Excellence in Graduate Teaching in Immunology Award from the Department of Immunology last year.
