Black Physician Association of Ontario (BPAO) Annual Health Symposium 2022

The Black Physicians' Association of Ontario (BPAO) is excited to invite you and your organization to our Annual Health Symposium being held on February 26, 2022. ALL physicians, healthcare providers, and medical trainees of various identities and backgrounds are welcome to attend, learn and network with us!

The BPAO's Annual Health Symposium is an accredited CPD event that provides medical-focused talks and networking opportunities for medical students, residents, and practicing health professionals, including physicians, nurses and allied health professionals. Our vision for the event is to highlight health issues that disproportionately affect Black communities.

Our keynote speaker will be Sandra Lindsay, DHSc, MBA, MSN, RN, CCRN-K, NE-BC - Director, Patient Care Services, Critical Care at the Northwell Health--Long Island Jewish Medical Center.

Sandra Lindsay was the first American to be immunized against COVID-19 outside of a clinical trial. Since then, she has served as a panelist and speaker on numerous national and international platforms addressing the COVID-19 pandemic, public health, vaccine hesitancy and the importance of getting vaccinated. She has also served as keynote speaker at commencement ceremonies and other settings.  

The BPAO Annual Health Symposium has been accredited by the

University of Toronto as follows:

  • College of Family Physicians of Canada Mainpro+ (1 credit/hour) Group Learning: 3.0 credits
  •  Royal College Maintenance of Certification Section 1: 3.0 hours
