Health Education and Research Training Series (HEARTS)

The Office of the Vice Dean, Research and Health Science Education (RHSE) is pleased to provide the Health Education and Research Training Series (HEARTS) calendar.

The purpose of this calendar is to make it easier than ever before, to find interesting and relevant seminars, conferences and discussions organized by the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, its associated hospitals, research institutes and other units.

HEARTS Event Submission Training Guide

What is HEARTS?

HEARTS is an easy-to-use online calendar for our Temerty Medicine community. The calendar lets you share and search for seminars, conferences and other events hosted by the University of Toronto and its affiliated hospitals and research institutes.

How is HEARTS different than the Events Calendar on the RHSE website?

The HEARTS calendar is for our community members to share events with the wider Temerty Medicine community. The audience is broad and includes faculty, students, prospective students, staff, clinicians and others associated with our affiliated hospitals and research institutes.

The Events calendar on the RHSE website is used only by our office and has a much narrower audience. We use this calendar to share things like internal award deadlines and other due dates that are relevant to faculty and staff in Temerty Medicine.

How do I submit an event?

To submit an event to HEARTS, contact the point person in your department, unit or research institute

If you are from a faculty other than Temerty Medicine, or you are looking to submit a hospital event, please contact the point person for the department or research institute whose students/faculty/trainees the event is targeting.

If you are the point person, simply login to your account, enter the event details and submit the event for review. For additional details, please review the HEARTS Calendar Event Submission Training Guide.

How do I search for an event?

Go the HEARTS calendar, type a keyword or select an option from the drop down lists and click Search.

What types of events are eligible for inclusions in HEARTS?

To be eligible for inclusion in HEARTS, the event must be associated with the University of Toronto or an affiliated hospital or research institute and be of relevance to the Temerty Medicine community (e.g., faculty, postdoctoral fellows, students, clinicians). We welcome submissions for invited speaker seminars, PhD oral examination seminars, prospective student information sessions, conferences and workshops, for example.

What types of events don’t qualify for inclusion in HEARTS?

We are unable to advertise events that are not affiliated with the University of Toronto or its teaching hospitals or research institutes and events hosted by student groups.
