Ziyad Khatab

Ziyad Khatab is a fourth-year student in the Bachelor of Medical Science program at Western University. He has a rich and diverse academic background having taken various courses in the medical sciences and humanities. Scientific research has been an integral part of his undergraduate career. Ziyad has a strong interest in studying scientific innovations and how they revolutionize the field of cancer biomarker detection. He is the first author of an article on disruptive innovations in laboratory medicine. Ziyad is also passionate about dissecting the molecular attributes of cancer pathogenesis as a foundation for biomarker discovery, risk assessment, and invention of new targeted therapy. His little contribution to the scientific community so far includes multiple co-author publications and acknowledgments. Besides the lab and school, Ziyad can be found cycling, rowing, or volunteering his time to help disadvantaged communities.
