Canada Graduate Scholarship-Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada-Master's
The Canada Graduate Scholarships-Master's (CGS M) Program aims to help develop research skills and assist in the training of highly qualified personnel by supporting students who demonstrate a high standard of achievement in undergraduate and early graduate studies. This federal program is awarded through national competitions by three granting agencies, including the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). The U of T competition is announced in October. Interested applicants are encouraged to review all of the information on SGS' Canada Graduate Scholarships-Master’s (CGS-M) Program web page and contact their graduate unit to determine the unit's internal submission process.
CIHR CGS-Doctoral
The Canada Graduate Scholarships—Doctoral (CGS D) program is a federal program of scholarships awarded through national competitions by three granting agencies, including the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). The program aims to promote continued excellence in Canadian research by rewarding and retaining high-calibre doctoral students at Canadian institutions. By providing support for a high quality research training experience to awardees, the CGS D program strives to foster impacts within and beyond the research environment. The U of T competition is announced in July. Interested applicants are encouraged to review all of the information on SGS' Canada Graduate Scholarships-Doctoral (CGS D) Program web page and contact their graduate unit to determine the unit's internal submission deadline and process.
Connaught International Scholarships for Doctoral Students
The Connaught International Scholarships for Doctoral Students is a cost-sharing initiative designed to assist graduate units in recruiting and supporting top international applicants. Nominees must: be international admissions applicants; not be currently registered in a degree program at the University of Toronto; have been or will be offered admission to a full-time doctoral program with a funding commitment in the upcoming academic year; and have achieved an A- average in each of the last two years of full-time study. Nominations are made by U of T graduate units based on submitted admissions applications. Students interested in this award are encouraged to contact their graduate unit when applying for admission to U of T.
CRND Graduate Student Aid Endowment
Specific Eligibility of this Award: To be awarded to graduate (MSc/PhD) students in the Centre for Research in Neurodegenerative Diseases in the Faculty of Medicine on the basis of financial need. General OSOTF Eligibility: Academically qualified students will be eligible to receive aid from U of T's OSOTF based on financial need. Students must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents and residents of Ontario as defined in OSAP (Ontario Student Assistance Program) guidelines.
David Rae Graduate Student Scholarship
Specific Eligibility of this Award: To be awarded to graduate students who are studying in the areas of leukaemia and lymphoma at the Faculty of Medicine. General OSOTF Eligibility: Academically qualified students will be eligible to receive aid from U of T's OSOTF based on financial need. Students must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents and residents of Ontario as defined in OSAP (Ontario Student Assistance Program) guidelines.
Delta Kappa Gamma World Fellowship
The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is a professional honorary society of 100,000 key women educators in 17 countries that promotes the professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education. Applicants must be international students who are currently registered full-time in a Master’s or Doctoral program, have a valid study permit, and are not completing their degree requirements in the academic year following the competition.
Dr Josiah Deboran and Flora Seedansingh Award
To be awarded annually to a master's or doctoral full time or part time student in any faculty who has an interest in pursuing any aspect of scholarly work which recognizes the multi-cultural composition of the Caribbean, and who demonstrates financial need
Dr. Bernard Lau Memorial Scholarship(s): Graduate Bursary
Specific Eligibility of this Award: To be awarded to a graduate student in the Faculty of Medicine on the basis of financial need who best demonstrates the qualities of Dr. Lau: In addition to extracurricular activities and a demonstrated concern for disadvantaged members of the community, the committee will also consider the candidate's work in developing countries, or with the native people of Canada or in remote areas. General OSOTF Eligibility: Academically qualified students will be eligible to receive aid from U of T's OSOTF based on financial need. Students must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents and residents of Ontario as defined in OSAP (Ontario Student Assistance Program) guidelines.
Dr. Edward Ketchum Graduate Student Scholarships
Specific Eligibility of this Award: To be awarded to graduate students in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine whose studies are in the area of hematological and small intestinal malignancies, especially those with celiac disease. General OSOTF Eligibility: Academically qualified students will be eligible to receive aid from U of T's OSOTF based on financial need. Students must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents and residents of Ontario as defined in OSAP (Ontario Student Assistance Program) guidelines.
Dr. Goran Enhorning Award in Pulmonary Research
Specific Eligibility of this Award: To be awarded to an academically strong MSc or PhD candidate in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine who is doing innovative basic science or clinical research related to pulmonary physiology. Award will only be given in a year a qualified student is identified. General OSOTF Eligibility: Academically qualified students will be eligible to receive aid from U of T's OSOTF based on financial need. Students must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents and residents of Ontario as defined in OSAP (Ontario Student Assistance Program) guidelines.
